Social Science - International Law
The Institute’s International Law programme evaluates the national and international regulation of political and economic relationships, focusing particular attention on long-term social and environmental challenges. Building on interdisciplinary work conducted in other research domains, scholars will examine environmental protection, economic development and armed conflict with an eye toward international covenants and customary international law. The programme focuses particular attention on human rights law, humanitarian law, and the role of courts and other multilateral institutions in international relations. The object is to bring legal perspectives to research in other substantive domains while enriching classroom teaching in the Conflict Studies and International Relations learning circles.
