Social Science - Conflict Studies

Designed to complement the Conflict Studies learning circle, the Conflict Studies programme examines the sources of armed conflict, the changing character of contemporary warfare and complex humanitarian emergencies. The program also conducts research into conflict prevention, conflict mitigation and conflict resolution, as well as the challenges associated with post-conflict reconciliation. The research agenda focuses particular attention on the role of non-state actors including terrorist syndicates and international non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
