Shore Excursions

Shore excursions, designed especially for The Scholar Ship’s students, are available at each port of call to explore the unique aspects of the local culture. The extensive array of options is diverse in duration, cost and content. Ranging from one hour to six days, excursions serve a wide variety of student interests and budgets. Shore excursions include adventure tours (think cycling through a protected national park), customized cultural and historic tours (think a private behind-the-scenes tour of a natural history museum), participation activities (think cooking or dance classes), and youth exchanges. These organized excursions may be in close proximity to ports or across the country, thus requiring air travel and overnight stays.

Learning tools and experiential education exercises assist students in integrating shore excursions into their overall experience. Developed in collaboration with our local partners, these organized activities are sure to be one of the most memorable dimensions of the voyage. Unlike required academic field programs, the cost of these optional shore excursions is not included in the program fee.
